Three gentlemen are seeking a caring, reliable and devoted direct support professional to help them achieve full community life.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor the person being supported to ensure safety in all aspects of their lives (medical, health, behavioral)
- Help implement the person supported Individual Plan.
- Ensure that person being supported rights and dignity are respected.
- Assist he person being supported with their personal care such as; toileting, feeding, showering, grooming, etc.
- Help the people supported maintain a family-style household; including preparing meals (that align with their dietary restrictions), keeping the house clean and ensuring that there are no safety hazards.
- Drive agency vehicle to transport persons supported to activities, doctor appointments, their families house, etc.
- Administer medication and document it properly on the Medication Administration Records.
- Complete necessary paperwork during your shift; diary notes, incident reports, behavior data, etc.
- Promote community inclusion, self-determination and self-sufficiency in those being supported through personal interactions.
- Attend mandatory house meetings.
- Some sleepover may be required
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must:
- Have excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- A valid US Driver License
- An acceptable Criminal Background Investigation
- An acceptable drug screen
- An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (no more than 3 points on record)
- A passing score on the Medication Administration Pre Test (completed at the time of interview)
- Be willing to complete Medication Administration 20 hour training course upon hire
- Comfortable with administering insulin needles.
